Logo and marketing campaign

ODOT Move Over campaign

The Ohio Dept. of Transportation wanted to create an advertising campaign to explain the new Move Over Law, which requires that motorists move over a lane when approaching emergency vehicles on the side of the road.

They needed a logo that would be used in a variety of ways, including bumper stickers, buttons, keychains, banners, and more. In addition, a sign was created that would be hung in all roadside rest areas throughout Ohio.

More about the Move Over Law

The changes to the Move Over Law were brought about as a result of the tragic death of Lee Rizor, a Highway Technician working for ODOT, who was killed when a semi-tractor trailer left the road and crashed into the construction area Rizor was working in, killing him. Rizor left behind 2 children, and a wife and coworkers determined to make changes in Ohio law to help safeguard the safety of all Highway workers and emergency vehicles. I am proud to have been part of this campaign, and my logo can be seen as bumper stickers on the backs of all ODOT vehicles, as keychains given out to Ohio Motorists at ODOT events, posters displayed in every state-run rest area in Ohio, as well as buttons, banners and more.
